Hi all, I’m having some issues with iCloud Backup. I’m using a freshly restored iPhone 6S Plus and the latest version of iOS.
When I go to settings>iCloud>Backup and try to turn iCloud Backup on, I get a generic error message: “there was a problem enabling iCloud backup”. This error message is mentioned in this Apple support article: https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT204058. The support article instructs to wait about 10 minutes, which I have done. It also advises to check the iCloud system status, which I’ve also done. In addition, I’ve rebooted the phone and reset network settings. When I go into settings>iCloud>storage>manage storage, no entries for backups are listed so there’s nothing to delete. On my Mac, if I open system preferences>iCloud and open the manage storage window, there’s actually a backup category—but there are no backups listed under that category so nothing can be deleted. Does anybody have any ideas as to how this issue can be resolved? Thanks so much, Grant -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
