Hi Ann,  that should work out for standard hard and paperback books.  Normally 
its exactly what I would suggest.  If the textbooks are 8.5x11 though, then 
they open out to 17x11.  Books that size need the flip sides function I think.

Could you send me a link to your foppydo on amazon?  They make a few models and 
the only one I actually touched was a cardboard thing like the standsan.  I get 
the impression yours is a cut above that.
