Time Machine is ok. I was thrown off by sound effects which I will
explore further.
Will be looking at some odd behaviour though after I have used El
Capitan for a while.

For the most part the upgrade went well. I am seeing some
interesting and strange behaviors though.
First noticed it in App Store. I would lose VO and it took invoking
either Window or Application Chooser to straighten it out.
Just now, a new one. If I try to run Time Machine, I hear a sound
effect and VO repeats something a few times. Something about a timer
which I have never used on the Mac. Pressing escape gets rid of TM and
brings up a Finder window focused on the desktop which was not
previously open.
I know there are new things in El Cap but am sure this is not one of
them. (smiles) Any ideas on what to check out? Thanks.
