The local UI for Chicken of the VNC seems to work pretty well with voiceover but once connected to a remote machine all you have is a live "screenshot" of the remote machine with no audio. There have been a couple discussions on this list about solutions to remote control access to other machines but they usually fall down on hearing the other system.

I”ve been wondering about VPN but also wondered if VNC was accessible on the Mac OSX platform?

I’m not sure about the specific service but setting up a VPN in general is very simple. I myself use a hardware VPN device but services like this should work the same way. What problems specifically are you having configuring or using the service?

    Hi Ben,

I've just started using it on my Mac. The app is sort of
accessible. The biggest problem so far I had when opening it for
the first time, having created an account on HMA's website. It
took me some time to work out how to sign in because the signing
in window must be a strange one, and I could only find the
username field and password when i used item chooser menu. So the
window is there but when vo+arrowing round the main window, you
can't find it easily. So use the item chooser menu.

It is also possible to configure vpn via Mac's network in system
preferences once you have an account with HMa. The necessary
details for that are found on HMA website in your user area in vpn
control panel section. I'm not at all adept at this, I've just
started learning about vpn and its configurations so I can't
    answer any more complex questions.

Hope this will help. By the way, there are others on the list who
know much more about this, so please chip in to help Ben.

        Hi all,

has anybody successfully used the Hide My Ass virtual private
network service on OSX? I've used it beautifully on Android,
iOS and Windows XP, but the Mac eludes me yet. For those who
don't know, Hide My Ass (name of service) is a virtual private
network (VPN) service which allows one to mask one's IP
address for things such as undoing the tzetze fly known as
        geoblocking.

        Thanks,

        Ben
