Dear Mark,

Thank you for writing.  In fact, the problem of my contacts not syncing has not 
been resolved so I'm very grateful for your message.  I added a new contact 
using my iphone 6s and disappointingly it does not show on my macbook pro in 
contacts although I had added the new contact a few days ago.  I always assumed 
that the way icloud works is to update such info within seconds.  So I'm really 
losing faith in this process now. I will follow your advice although I assume 
it shouldn't be necessary.
