Esther, That's correct.  I do have one of the newMinis, purchased in September 
of this year and it does fit my monitor connector.
Just a slight drawback as far as I'm concerned because I bought a cheap monitor 
just for this mac from Tigerdirect when I bought the mac.
Not having to connect it would make it a bit more portable but no biggie really.
If someone on this list actually has made this work I'd like to know though.
