it isn't so much that they have a lot of time on their hands. It's that they 
have no ethics and also no emotional control. Believe it or not, there are 
those of us (who are still hackers) that have ethics. we are few and very far 
between. I am not a coder, so I don't deal with that end of things too often. I 
am paranoid about hardware and software security (it's the primary reason why 
my systems are so hard to break into). now if I can just convince Theo De Raadt 
and company over at openBSD that adding accessibility to their OS is a good 
idea, then I will have it made. ah dreams. :)
