You can use it on both the Mac and iPhone. It's in the keyboard part of settings and system preferences.

That’s it. To add a line break, press Option-Return. On the Mac You have to do a lot of VO navigation, after pressing the add button, you have to VO 9 times. As for IOS, the focus seems to vary using my Apple keyboard. So I purchased text expander and the touch version. But that is great for bigger snippets. Have you found a quick way of entering abbreviations on the Mac? I wonder if you use a lot of the braille contractions? I had put them in my phone but then removed them because I put a space after them. I used the semicolon for the 4,5 prefix and the colon for 4,5,6, oh and the full stop as dot 5 or 6. Oh and I wondered have you found a way to put a line break, so you could do things like postal addresses? BTW: Do you know what is the maximum character length? I look forward to any comments and or tips you might have in respect of the above. https://smilesoftware.com/textexpander/support Kind regards, Gena On 16 Feb 2016, at 19:24, Jonathan Mosen <[email protected]> wrote: Hi Gina, I use the text expansion built into Mac and iOS and it's a huge time saver. I've got a lot of three-letter abbreviations that result in expansion into very lengthy messages. It's great for inquiries I get regularly, and I like that once I get an expansion added, it's available on all my OS X and iOS devices. It rocks rather majorly I reckon. While I can input my abbreviations myself, it seems it is a very Painful exercise using Apple's shortcut options in keyboard shortcuts. Is there an app that has predefined routines? A common method is to not type vowel letters for example. Many thanks Gena Sent from my iPhone -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
