Hi! 1Password stores its data in ~/Library/Container/2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper/Data/Library/Data/OnePassword.sqlite if you purchased it from the Mac App Store. If you purchased it through AgileBits website, it is probably somewhere like ~/Library/Application Support/1Password\ 6/Data/OnePassword.sqlite. You can of course use either Dropbox or iCloud to sync the data, as well as use Wi-Fi Sync. You're obviously not required to sync the data at all, in which case it'll just remain in either location.
I've never used other password managers other than 1Password, mainly because I've never had any issues with it and it's easy enough to use as well as having extensive help.
