The contents are show because it IS mounted. once opened it will appear as a removable drive ie same as flash drive or usb external. You can eject it by the usual methods after you are finished with it too. Question: if you dont care about the contents of the iso why would you need to mount it? Most times it is needed to be mounted to gain access to an installer, etc unless you are using an app such as Parallels or VMWare Fusion which recognises ISO install images.
