Wow, I never had that with the clip, but then again, I hardly ever wear mine
in the clip as for me, I'm a bit chubby around the beltline, so when I go to
sit down, the clip squeezes into my side/lovehandle area, which is really
uncomfortable.

I’ve noticed that too; in my oppinion, for the money you put into them, they’re
really poorly made. I love their ruggedness, but can’t stand the fact that
you can’t use the clip they come with without it tearing the casing to
shreds.
I’ve had 3 of them, and it either chipped the metal part of the casing, or
shredded the rubber around the outside, or both. When it came to the first
one I got, repeated use of the clip ground the metal on one side to the
point that when I put it into the clip one afternoon, I heard this sound
like sand moving around under someone’s shoes, so I took it out, and and
part of the side of it looked like someone who’d had a cavity, or something
weird like that.

Hi. You don't really want to take it off, unless you absolutely have to.
The more you take it on and off, the looser the rubber portion of the case
becomes, which in my opinion is the worst part about that case. For the
amount of money those cases cost, they should be better designed. Correct
me if I'm wrong, but you're talking about the defender series, right? If
not, I stand corrected.

Well, still haven't figured out how to get it off. lol Guess this
answers my question, I won't take it off unless I decide I don't want to
use it any more.

Those cases are a royal, B***! to get off! It can be done, but not
easily. the trick is to find the little square nub on either the left
side, or the right side. It'll be about halfway down the length of the
case. You basically just have to get your fingernail up there in
between both the front and back of that hard case, and pull it apart.
Be ready to probably cut your finger a teeny bit though when doing it,
as it's a little bit sharp. These things aren't meant to come off
easily.
You might be able to pry a butterknife or something in there and pop it,
but I'd not chance it. That could be a little bit risky. I'm telling
you right now, it's not gonna be an easy chore! It was fairly easy to
do with the IPhone 5, and 5S cases, and I think, even the 5C cases, but
once they went to the 6 cases which were thinner, it made it really
really difficult. Don't be afraid that you're gonna break it, as it's
not giving way. It'll come, I promise ya, but you're really gonna have
to pull, and, buddy? I, mean, pull! Hard!

I don't know which one it is, I didn't pay that close of attention. I
can tell you that I'm able to get it loose by pulling back the top right
corner, but the case does not seem to want to let go of the phone!

I personally don't mind the extra bulk, and actually find it makes my
phone feel a bit more solid. I swear by mine.
Also, you say you got an Otterbox. Which one though, as that will
determine how you get it off. Are you using the Defender?

Subject: Just got an OtterBox case for my iPhone
Hi all,
As the subject says, I just got an OtterBox case for my phone. I'm
glad for the extra protection, but not liking the added bulk. Just
wondering if any of you who have this case put it on and take it off as
needed? If yes, what's the best way to take it off? (I'm talking
about the back, not the tempered glass screen protector.)
TIA,
Donna
