Yup, I found a press release on the FS site talking about the merger:

and everything else on the AbiSee web site seems to still be there but
purchasing sends you to the F S dealer locator. That said, the zoom-ex page:
http://www.abisee.com/Zoom-EX.html
only mentions XP and Vista 32-bit, which sounds kind of unsupported, not
to mention any Mac support.

The Zoom Ex runs on the mac/windows. It’s a USB camera device that
you download the software for and it works a lot like knfb reader,
eye-pal, etc. I love it due to the fact that if you’re scanning
something that has a ton of pictures intertwined with the text, as
opposed to open book, or anything else I’ve tried to scan with
those images which won’t read them properly, the zoom ex, strips
the pictures away from the text and reads it perfectly; don’t ask
me how, because I unfortunately can’t explain it, but I think
there’s an option in there to save the image with the pictures in
it if you wanted to.
