Finally made this to work. The Jawbone Updater is not actually an application but probably should be considered a 'helper'.

The latest Mac version is 2.2.5. If anyone remembers Jawbone's MyTalk then things have changed. A side note, the original Jambox is no longer supported but if you have the mini or Big Jambox, this is what you do to install a different voice.

Download and install the Jawbone Updater. I am still not good with Safari but after you connect your device (powered off) to a USB port, then find My Devices. Your Janbox should be shown there. Select it and you should see a list of voices and languages to download. After its downloaded you can close Safari.

Find the voice or language file and activate it to install it. You may want to download several voices while signed in then you can install any one of them at any time.
