I'd use vo-f instead. It does the same thing, but takes you directly to the result with no need to find buttons or tab. If you need find and replace, this won't work, but for just finding text, it's the easiest. Similar to Text Edit, once you do a search, use vo-g or vo-shift-g to find the next or previous occurrence of the search string.
