So, if you have true gigabit to your home and you’re only getting 300 megabits or so you either have a fractional gigabit like 300 megabits which is possible or you have a choke point which is probable. Definitely clear the 100 megabit blockage and make that gigabit. Also, your router may not be able to forward at a gig. You may need to upgrade your router. To test this try sending a file from one directly wired computer to another. If it’s not the maximum throughput then it’s time to forklift the router and replace it with a new one.
