Oh Yeah that peter Jackson guy, I’ve heard of him, He lives in Wellington,
capital city, full of political people
I think Peter J makes documentaries about short people with furry feet going
on big trips, can’t thnk what the doco was called now, can’t be important.

In that case, he is using the term incorrectly. Across the pond, the pond
refers to the Atlantic Ocean. No other body of water.

No the UK is just a hop skip and a jump in comparison. From where I am when
conditions are right I can pick up UK television directly and I’ve worked parts
of the UK on 20 meters at something like 500 milliwatts. New Zealand is
another matter entirely.

Actually, from you, I’m way more than across the pond, I’m just about as far I
think as I can get from your position. I’m located in the North East United
states, we call the region New England where the Europeans originally settled,
the most recent time we won’t discuss the vikings or druids or anyone else who
made it over first but history doesn’t record because it doesn’t help the
case.:) So when I say across the pond it’s an expression used a lot between
Great Britain and the United States to refer to the ocean between us.
