Hi list,

I just had a very strange experience with Voice Over. For no apparent reason,
it suddenly stopped speaking. I was forced to restart the machine as VO would
not restart itself. Just as an aside to this, I tried to reboot the system from
within Terminal and this did not work. I do not know why my Administrative
password did not trigger the shutdown, but there we are. I also tried to do
this with my standard account password and this did not work either. I am
assuming that the standard account is not in the sudoer's file which is fine.
But I am unclear as to why my Admin password did not trigger the kill.

Anyway, speech is back now - hence the E-Mail. Has anyone else experienced
this? Perhaps I will try repairing permissions Should I also try zapping the
PRAM? What is this and what will happen if I do this?

Thanks

TC
