Arnold, this sounds like a screening deal. I’d go for it, excellent choice.
You should swap out that drive though, you’ll have a Mac that performs much more like a later model and you’ll be happier. If money is really tight you could do something like a 128 GB SSD for $100 or so maybe even less by now and then just put your near line data on an older style rotating model with your high demand stuff and program files on the SSD. In fact, not to throw to much at you but you could just by a case for $25 or so, pull that 500GB drive, slap it in the case, insert a smaller sized or larger depending on funds SSD in the Mini and connect the 500 as a removable. Or I believe there’s a second bay if you want to have both internal. Sounds like a good deal though.
