I have enough vision to properly aim. Aiming isn't the problem, and doing this with the back facing would have been very difficult in my situation, if not impossible.
I got the picture taken, and it is absolutely flawlessly centered, and covers from about an inch and a half above my head, to about my breastbone, so it's a very very well taken pic. I just wish I knew how to make the stupid thing not burst all those photos like that. --- Christopher Gilland JAWS Certified, 2016. Training Instructor. I don’t know the answer to the timer question, but another solution is an app called SelfieX. It’s designed to use the back camera and give you verbal instructions on positioning it right. When it’s in the right spot it automatically takes the picture. Past versions had accessibility issues but I just snapped a picture with the latest version and it seemed to work well. With my limited vision it did seem to me that the picture wasn’t quite centered, but I can’t always believe my eyes. This way after telling the shutter to be activated, I can move my hand out of the way in time. When I do this howevber, it's seeming to snap 5 or 10 pictures back to back... almost like a burst mode. Is this normal when using the still camera timer? If not, then how do I turn this off? I only need one photo, and I have a selfie stick, so I'm very confident that I'm aimed perfectly. It's not like I need multiple takes. --- Christopher Gilland JAWS Certified, 2016. Training Instructor.
