Hi,

The cmd-n command opens a new Finder window, and by default, it usually
opens the All Files window. You really don't need both windows open at the
same time to copy and paste between them. For example, if I had a file
called "copy Me" in a folder named "Stuff" on my Desktop, I could navigate
to that file, press cmd-c to Copy it, then navigate to wherever I wish to
paste it, press cmd-v to Paste and the file will be copied over. I would
press cmd-option-v to move it over so that it only resides in the new
location. This process also works for copying text or images, in that both
windows are not required to be open at the same time. If you are dragging
files, then both windows need to be open, sort of.

Hello all:

I read a very great article about how to use the finder, I will put
it's link here incase for any new user like me.
but what is strange for me now is the new window, when I press Command
N, I got a window with all files, I need to close it, I hit command
w, the window closed, and don't know how can I go out from the all
files window, I need to open 2 different windows inside finder to copy
and paste somethings.
can you tell me how?

Here is the link to the article that I mentioned:
