If you do a vo + f3, it will say a percentage of the download.

Hello all:
now, I have my 2 macs, the mini and my MacBook pro. I need to install
sierra on both, but don't want to download it twice.
so, after downloading from the mac appstore, will I find the installer
in the downloads folder? can I upgrade to sierra before taking the
installer from downloads? or I must take it 1st if I will find it?
my 2nd question is concerning time machine:
can I use a hard that will be prepared to time machine on mac mini,
can I use this hard to backup with MacBook pro also? or it must be 1
hd for each machine? of cores each machine will have it's own apps,
and I don't want the apps to be on both? the backup will different
from 1 to another
because, my macmini is for my studio it has pro tools etc.
and I don't want these apps to be on my MacBook pro that has the
VMware that I don't need in my studio.
