I am sure we will all have a use for Siri at some point as at the
moment, I love mail as it's so clean and the whole interface for the new
operating system is one of the best I've seen to date. We should thank
all the testers for working so hard sending in bug reports and most
importantly persuading Apple to fix things.

Mine is quite slow on my mid 2012 MBP but I do use it for opening
apps. I also appreciate quickly getting my system stats with it. Not
sure whatelse I’ll use it for but possibly opening web pages will be
something worthwhile.

I find it helpful for quickly sending tweets or messages, opening
apps, getting the definitions or spellings of words, and looking for
files/pictures. For instance, I needed to find a particular picture
I'd taken the previous day, so simply told Siri to "show pictures I
took yesterday". Yes, it's easier to do things on a Mac than an
iPhone with a keyboard, but it's often easier with Siri, even on the
Mac. I might not have Messages open, or I might be in the middle of
something and want to dash off a reply as soon as I can. Or I might
be writing something, and just need to check a definition before
typing a word; Siri is far faster than typing the word, looking it
up, and finding the web content holding the definitions. The latter
is more thorough, but all I need is a quick check. Finally, Siri is
great for quickly playing music, especially for Apple Music
subscribers. Even if you don't use that service, Siri can play any
song, artist, or playlist in your library, just like on iOS. Don't
want to deal with iTunes? Just tell Siri to play a song, or that you
love or don't like the current song, or any similar commands.

Hi.

I don't know why Siri is on the Mac as I find it very weird being
able to tell Siri what to do as I'm use to it on the I phone but not
so on the Mac. You see, I'm use to typing on the Mac and dictating
on my I phone.

So out of interest, what will people use Siri for on the Mac? Apart
from asking Siri daft questions, and asking Siri to send your
messages and short replies to your e-mails, what else can you do as
you can't take your I Mac or Mac Mini out of the house!
