Hi Andrew. I have a mid 2010 Mac myself with 4 GB of ram and I've noticed that 
Voiceover only crashes if Alex is used. I've seen this in the betas and sad 
that it hasn't been fixed in updates which makes me think that Apple doesn't 
test their products on older Mac models. I think Sierra might be the last 
version of MacOS that we'll be able to use on these old relicks of our's. So if 
you're using Alex, try using a nuance voice that you may like until Apple 
decides to remody this situation. Also maybe contact the Apple Accessibility 
team at [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> and see if 
they reproduce this issue if they have an old Mac like ours.
