Hello, I just upgraded this Mac to Sierra, and thought I’d pass along a few tips, that just might help especially on older machines. First, just run through the installer and let it install, enter your passwords and all that, like it asks. First once it’s completely done, or before you begin installing, switch VoiceOver to use another voice other than Alex. I say this because during the upgrade process, some voices are or will be re downloaded, and Alex is one of them and you might lose speech if you don’t switch. Next, I have a suggestion that might work as far as the whole Alex and crashing situation goes. I found that he only seems to crash when Siri and this voice are used together. In other words, if you’re using Alex no matter which version, and you enable Siri, he might crash, at least for now. There is of course a solution which is to use another voice. But if you don’t want to, and you aren’t using Siri, then simply going into System Preferences and disabling Siri has worked for me to keep him from crashing and causing the whole system to sort of lock up, in lack of other ways to explain it. I hope all these tips helps someone. :) Thanks, Jeffrey
