You asked about the adapter, it’s very very small, think of two plugs about the 
size of the lightning end of your power cord with about an inch or so of cable 
between them.  Fits right in the bottom and has a flexible cable separating the 
jack and lightning end so you don’t damage your connector with a big adapter 
hanging out.
