You’re a highly insecure person not using 2 factor. I use 2 factor on everything from Apple to Google to my bank.
Let’s put it this way, if John Podesta had used 2 factor authentication none of his emails would have been on Wikileaks. It is so easy to capture passwords today they are almost useless. Anyone who doesn’t secure with 2 factor is just asking for it. Takes me about 5 minutes on average to crack in to a Gmail account for example with out 2 factor. If 2 factor is enabled I just plain can’t. There’s about a 30 second window per code and it’s just about impossible to crack the algorithm. Also, advertising on public mailing lists that you do not use 2 factor is just asking to be compromised. There are teams of North Korean, Russian, Chinese and Iranian hackers right now running automated scripts looking for data of interest with automated scripts from mailing lists and emails operating 24/7. That’s just the state actors let alone the thousands of bored kids doing the same thing. If you’re not using 2 factor you deserve what you get.:) > On Oct 26, 2016, at 5:18 AM, David Griffith <[email protected]> wrote: > > I have not done the update but presumably the two factor verification is not > yet compulsory? > > David Griffith >> On 26 Oct 2016, at 09:24, Simon Fogarty <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> Yes an update came out yesterday and part of the setup is a request if you >> wish to setup two factor authentication. >> >> -----Original Message----- >> From: [email protected] >> [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Stacey Robinson >> Sent: Wednesday, 26 October 2016 3:31 PM >> To: Macvisionaries <[email protected]> >> Subject: New IOS update? >> >> Is there a new update for Ios10? >> My husband heard that they have put one out that requires some kind of six >> digit code. >> We are both using iPhone six’s. >> >> Peace, >> Stacey Robinson and GEB dog Kirk. >> >> mailto:[email protected] >> >> -- >> The following information is important for all members of the Mac >> Visionaries list. >> >> If you have any questions or concerns about the running of this list, or if >> you feel that a member's post is inappropriate, please contact the owners or >> moderators directly rather than posting on the list itself. >> >> Your Mac Visionaries list moderator is Mark Taylor.
