Well tonight, I had an emergency, and got to put that in to play. Here is how it works, according to my driver. If you set a destination, and want to make a bunch of stops between your pickup location and the end destination, that is fine. You can keep the trip going. Now, where it gets tricky is if you want him to wait at your end point, and then resume the trip to another place, he ends the trip, and you immediately request another one while with him, and set a second end destination. He can then pick up the trip and you can keep him. If you do not do this, then he has to pickup the next Uber request. He cannot deny it, and wait for you. So, I hope this helps.
