Wait,
The function keys show up when you hold down the FN key? So, does this mean,
since it's just normally a bar, that the function keys are motorized and
will pop up when you hit the fn key? Can you try maybe better explaining, if
possible?

In the presentation it changes with each application your running,
Something like dynamic I guess
But if you hold the fn key down the function keys show up.
I'd like to know if you can get the 13" touch bar model but with the
standard keyboard rather than the new one, and the max ram, SSD and I7
processor.

Looks like we’ll have lots of keys to map now with the light bar. I’m
intrigued by the idea but need to try one out myself to see what it’s like.

Sure, if osx suffices for your use cases, this is probably correct.
But, if you want to host virtual machines, e.g. via VMware, here's yet
another key to map, and yet another way to make using those virtual
machines problematic, i.e. harder to reliably stay in the vm vs
accessing the chrome of the host vm server.
Personally speaking, I'm not satisfied remapping Ctrl, Option, and
Command to host Windows and Linux. I've just not been sufficiently
happy with doing this on my Airbook to the extent that I took an 8
year old laptop with me on my last several business trips rather than
the Airbook.

Guess this is a wait and see situation.
I just want a quad core processor in my mac book air and `32gig ram

I'll be happy even with a 13 inch device and those specs.

I just saw an article talking about how you can re-map and existing key,
such as control, caps lock, command or option, to take the place of the
escape key which is going away on the new MacBooks to be revealed on
Thursday. There will still be that functionality on the new magic track
bar or whatever they're calling it. But if you are a person who wants to
have a hardware escape key, you will have to remap an existing key to get
it. For those of you who use caps lock for voiceover, good luck. I have
no idea how that Mike coexist with this new functionality. Or you're
stuck with the new magic track bar and it's soft functionality. Could be
interesting.
