Hi,

That's interesting Jonathan.  I would not have thought that to be the case in 
that part of the US.  We have stretches of road up north here where there's no 
real population other than bears, moose and those dreaded black flies.  So, 
it's often expected that you can drive for a couple hours and not get any cell 
signal.  It's less common further south unless you go near the mountains, which 
is totally normal to lose signal.

Oh well, enough said.

the radio telescope in the area. Also, I heard recently from somebody driving 
between Mississippi and Houston that significant portions of the trip had no
