You have to think why would somebody who does not know you want to give
you ready cash?
It is obvious a fishing email which should go straight into the trash.
As to how they get your email address they apparently have engines which
churn out thousands and thousands of user names sequentially and link
them to known email providers.
I once had an email address which for various reasons I never ever used.
I did not publish it and it never appeared on any email message or was
involved in any transaction. Sure enough after a while even this
completely unused account started to attract spam messages. A spam
engine had managed to hit it by trying out names almost at random.
The crucial thing of course is to never reply to these emails or if you
can avoid allowing your email account to remotely download content which
of course also confirms to the the spammers that they have made a hit.
