It should be enabled by default, but you can use the VOiceOver-keys 
(control-option)-m twice. You can arrow  left/right to locate the AirPort icon 
and determine it's status.  You can also arrow down once you locate this icon 
to see what networks are available as well.  Additionally, you can go to System 
Preferences and locate the Network Button and modify settings related to your 
wireless network as well.
