Not true. The AirPods have started shipping / will start shipping this week. They are so popular that the ordering is now out to 6 weeks away when ordering online from the Apple Store. My fiancé ordered them in the Australian Apple Store shortly after they came online, and we are slated to receive them around December 19. US Apple Store was already 4 weeks out at that when she ordered them..
