Hi Tim,

I certainly wouldn't relish going back to Windows, but for me it would be a 
matter of principle.  Having access to battery information is for me a 
non-negotiable component of portable computing, and if a company thinks that 
blind users should be OK living without that, I'm not OK with them.  This is 
all the more true in the wake of that video that was shown at the last Apple 
event where they touted their commitment to accessibility.  So, I wouldn't want 
to go back to Windows, but I would feel that this decision by Apple flies in 
the face of their own stated values, and leaves me with a computer I'm not 
comfortable trusting when i don't have access to AC.

At any rate, hopefully this will be fixed soon, and so will be  moot point.
