Hi there, first, sounds like the pins might be loose not necessarily a magnetic
deal if I’m understanding correctly. I assume you mean on the square box where
the plug attaches rather than on the magnetic part that attaches to the side of
the laptop. If this is the case you can buy a new plug section only for a few
bucks and it also should have come with a long extension type cable that slides
in the same slot. You could use that instead and if it didn’t come with one
you can buy them inexpensively.

Second, yes, you should have a spare, or 2 or 3.:). You can go to amazon and
buy a charger for pennies on the dollar. Apple charges $79 I believe for a new
charging box and you can buy them for $40 so about half off. Some places just
mass sell them, make sure you get an apple branded one or apple certified, it
will say in the description. I have 4 of them, one I leave in my work bag, one
plugged in by my bed and end table, one by my reclining chair in front of the
TV and one I leave at the office. That may be over kill but it’s good to have
more than one around for that odd chance you need a replacement.

Good luck and let us know how you make out with the issue.
