Hi Georgina

Have you tried increasing the Volume to see if it's turned up?

I've heard of this happening before,

Also if you've had Bluetooth headphones or speakers connected check that they
aren't on and taking over the audio.

The other thing to check would be a triple press of the home key so three quick
presses on the home key can if setup at start up turn on the Voiceover system.

Note that you should try turning up the volume first because if vo is already
running then your likely to turn voiceover off using triple click
Hope that helps.

Subject: VoiceOver on the locked screen of an iPhone

Hello All,

I’ve a problem with my iPhone. I tried to do a backup restore. Now the phone is
silent and iTunes states that I need to enter the passcode on the iPhone. Being
an iPhone 7 I can click the home button and feel the haptic feedback. But I
can’t get it to speak to me at all. “Hey siri turn on VoiceOver” doesn’t work.
I’ve clicked the home button in threes many times but no sound comes from the
speakers. How can I get VO to speak so that I can enter my passcode?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Gena
