Yes, this will work. One word about your keyboard though. GB has somewhat limited support for Midi controllers other then the notes and pitch bend. Therefore you'll probably need to really use the arrow keys on your notebook rather than the track select buttons of your keyboard. One exception to this which i know are the M-Audio keyboards. They come with a GB plugin supporting these controls allowing you to select the track - which is the instrument in your scenario right from the keyboard itself which is somewhat more convenient during a live performance.
