Hi, If your Mac is charging, then the battery status is announced by VO, if not, then you have a few options. You can ask Siri, works but problematic in a meeting or other public venue. You can go to System Prefs in the Energy Saver pane and it is available there. Also, in the Activity Monitor. Finally, there is a script that Shaun made available that will, in conjunction with a Keyboard Commander setting, announce the battery status by pressing right option-b.
