just to let you know that there is a free accessible  open source interactive 
client available for the Mac called Spatterlight. I have literally only spent 5 
minutes testing it, but apparently it can play most formats, such as AGT, 
Adrift, TADS, Level 9 and Zcode games.  It supports games with sound but not 
graphics..
Voiceover doesn't read new text automatically, however the text area is easily 
read with the VO cursor.  The up and down arrow keys let you review your 
command history which is again not read out, but it is shown on the command 
line.  There's not a lot in the way of options other than changing the back and 
foreground colours, font and size of your commands and the game's text which 
can be set independent of each other.
One other neat touch it has  is that it will worn you if you try to quit  
without saving.
