That would be correct, but it's not usually the case with SIP, which is
seriously unfortunate because SIP opens so very many ports. It's quite
easy to run into NAT issues with SIP, primarily for incoming calls, not
so much for outgoing.

On my Asterisk server I still listen for IPv4 incoming only because I
can't find a suitable SIP gateway service that supports IPv6. The only
one I know of is http://callwithus.com, and they don't support LNP.

Every few months I look around at SIP gateway providers for IPv6
support, but I've found no joy. Meanwhile, my Asterisk is hammered by
attempts to crack me for some nefarious purpose or other. I would expect
those attempts to drop near 0 were I able to restrict my gateway
interface to the IPv6 protocol.

Obviously, this would work best were you have native IPv6 from your ISP,
like with Comcast here in the States. Sorry to hear Verizon is again
gone wobbly about 6.

Mike didn't say in his post, but I wonder whether he's looking for SIP
on his iphone? I would expect there are more choices there, though I
can't say personally as I'm only Android for mobile.
