Hi Janina

Thanks for that,

I'll go have a look at these.

I currently have a static ip v4 address for home and then my domin name
pointing at that through an external provider

I then just have to rdp to my domain name and all works mind you if I could rdp
directly to my machines rather than through one to the rest it would be much
easier.

So, Simon, two quick observations ...

About Windows -- I had no issues with IPv6 when I had my Windows 7 vm for
several months about a year ago.

Second, for global access, if you'd like access to your machines while you're
out and about in the world, or external access for whatever reason ...

You can get encapsulated IPv6 for free. This is a bit of magic wherein the IPv6
packets are encapsulated within IPv4 packets. Best way to do this is to sign up
for an account over on:

http://TunnelBroker.net

This is a service provided by Hurrican Electric, and it rocks.

Once you're registered you can register the IPv4 address your ISP provides you,
and Tunnel Broker gives you a routable IPv6 block for use on your LAN.

Lastly, you can register your machines for name access over DNS somewhere.
Sorry about this step, but I've always been my own DNS resolver, because I
can't remember when I didn't have a public facing Linux machine somewhere.

Janina
