Yes I have jailbroken in the past. It is not currently jb-ed. There is no effect on VO or on the phone in any way.
No bricking. It is unlikely if not entirely imposible with the new procedures. Very easy and straightforward. Unless you have a specific need, I don't necessarily recommend taking the time as many apps are not that accessible and the cidia app may still not be accessible. note that I said may.... I've not checked it out for a while. The keyboard thing is getting me interested though.
