Hi. well, there's the firewire port. That is one big difference.
Unfortunetly, I need that for my job. All my audio gear is firewire 400.
So, that means that instead of buying the on sale mac book for $728, I need
to drop at least $1099 on the mbp, for a machine with less hard drive space.

Now if they had left the firewire port on the mac book with ti chipset, I'd
be good to go. But, it is how it is I suppose. Not slamming apple here,
the standard mb is still a great little box, and I know they had to do
something to bring and keep the price point down on the mbs. But, it is a
bit of a drag that they sort of forced all us audio and video peeps to go
for the pro, or, try to find an older second hand/refurb mb that does have
the firewire option.

Cameron.

I love my mb and it might as well be the mb pro and if you stop and think
there really aren't any differences in either model.

That's a good model! Just the right size and price, and with 4 gigs of ram
that thing will fly!

Hey that's cool. Good luck with it when you get it. Which one did you
get? 13 inch, 15 or 17?
