This Safari busy thing is pushing me farther and farther away from
Leopard. I've only had my Macbook back for a day and it's happened
too many times to count. Not only does it lock up Safari but it makes
me lose speech (I had to reboot just now and couldn't shut down
properly) and disables the use of Text Edit. I've never had so many
problems with any operating system. I think I'm about ready to hand
this computer over to Mom, as soon as my Acer and Compaq come back.
Besides, I want to focus my attention on Enhanced DR-DOS. At least I
can understand that os messing up, since it's still being developed
and some of the newer programs I'm sure aren't fully screen reader
accessible since no readers for DOS, that I know of at least, are
being updated. Still, I'm willing to learn and to take my chances
there. I'll go back to Apple when I get my IIGS hooked up. I have a
lot I want to do with that machine and Gods know there's enough
information on adaptive tech for that system from all over the net.
I'll let you guys know how the internet experiment goes, providing
that I can find an Apple modem and the necessary packet drivers and
browser if Proterm doesn't have them built-in. But for now, it's back
to IBM-compatibles.

I'll be on the Mac regularly probably for at least three more weeks
and I'll see if updates fix the problem, just to be fair. But I'm
sure this problem will only be replaced by another. It's ashamed,
cause I had such high hopes for this os. Ah well.

Later,
Eleni
