I have 5 of the WD My Passport drives and none are for the Mac. Two are formatted for Windows, the rest for the Mac and each are partitioned. They all have been working fine. So I am curious what the difference is with the Mac version.

If you find the drive in your computer volume listing,
And then do a command I to get info,
Then find the details that say format. See what it says.

If you need to format the device to the mac os journaled then please
ask and we can advise you of how to do this.

I know with the Passport I didn’t have to format it . I am not so
adept in formatting . I tried going into disk utility but was not
sure where to go from there . I may go to staples this morning and
    try another drive .
