Hi Simon,

Yes, it's simply a tunnel so as long as you enter the proper credentials, it
shouldn't matter whether you're dealing with Mac or Windows.

Yes, I'm out of the fire zone this year. Nothing left to burn around us :).
There have been some smaller fires within 70 to 80 kilometres but not really
any big concerns to many of us. The worst of it all is in British Columbia,
just on the other side of the Rockies from us. My Dad lives close to a rather
aggressive one that ignited a couple of days ago, but so far he's not worried.
Lots of smoke and often difficult to see particularly far, and rough for folks
with respiratory ailments.

Let me know if you have any issues trying to set things up.

And the fact I’m going to be connecting to windows servers and workstations via
this connection shouldn’t be an issue?

I do already have sierra server on one of my minis.

I’ll have a look and see what happens.

Thanks Tim,

I take it your out of the fire zone this time?

Sounds pretty bad over there in Canada currently.

Simon,

I would suggest you use, and do use myself already, MacOS X Server. Since you
already have Minis, you would just need the Server app, available from the App
Store. The VPN service is easily configurable.

Hi Scott and anyone else with thoughts on this.

I’m looking for a VPN service either existing that I can use to connect from my
mac book air or iPad / iPhone to my home systems which consist of a couple of
mac minis and windows servers 2012R2 and others.

I just want something to connect from the remote device to the home end and
then rdp into what I need at the time to access.
I’m not sure free is the best option but thoughts greatfully appreciated.
