Hi, Ioos 11 will be publicly released on the 19th. I am guessing that the iPhone X is more a camera based phone for pros who use there phones for taking pictures and the likes of it. I have an iPod touch 6th gen which works fine for me and at some point will one upgrading it to iOS 11. Just my thoughts.
