Hi, I don't believe that it's possible to do things in the way that you are suggesting. The front pane of the Messages app lists the conversations and they are only accessed by opening the thread or conversation itself. I have not found the bug you're speaking of to be an issue as of yet since I seldom delete messages. So, by not changing the router setting, it is always on "Activate" when double-tapping on a thread. The other thing one could do while waiting for the update is to always swipe up or down before double-tapping on a thread to ensure that the rotor is not set to delete.
Not the best solution, but it works for me. Later... I was wondering if it would be possible to have all messages, even those that are thought to be in the same conversation, listed separately. I'm not seeing any setting under there that would do this. So for instance, if I have engage in a back-and-forth with an individual in a series of text messages, when I look on my message list, I see that person's name and nothing else in terms of how many messages or separate messages. If I delete what I see, the whole thread goes away. If I have received a couple of notifications, such as from Amazon shipment and package arrival, all I see in the message list is a six digit number and Amazon but not the fact that there might be two or three different notifications hiding there. How can I see these as separate messages? I am most concerned about this in terms of the upgrade to iOS 11. I suppose it's possible that they have introduce something in settings in iOS 11 that isn't there under 10. This concern is brought about because of the voiceover bug. Anyway, how can I do this?
