I would just select one cloud source and use that. If you don't use iCloud web interface but you do use googles web interfaces then I suggest you migrate all your contacts over to Google and then remove iCloud contacts from your Apple devices. Otherwise, you will find that you never quite have the right information. Generally, for iPhone / Macintosh contacts applications the all contact information is primarily sourced in the cloud (iCloud, Google Exchange or LinkedIn) These systems all have was pf informing your devices anytime something has changed in their master copy. Then the Contacts app will replace the copy stored in the computer.
Several years ago, the Mac or perhaps a plugin I had on my windows phone tried to do things like you describe and my systems ended up eating large amounts of time and battery copying updates from Exchange to device to phone to computer to exchange and back again. Modern technologies keep the master in a server and then download updates as necessary, this works for calendars with CalDav and Mail with IMAP.
