Hello Everyone, A week or so ago, some people were asking how to stop iOS from prompting for the latest update. I do not remember to which forum the question was posted; nor do I remember if an answer was ever given.
However, based only on my own recent experience with two of my iOS devices, it seems as though I have stumbled upon the answer. Here is one of my recent scenarios: 1. A dialog box popped up on my iOS 10.3.3 home screen informing me that iOS 11.01 was ready to be installed. At this, I believe I had three options, Install Now, Later, or See More Details. 2. I selected Later. To my surprised, I was prompted to enter my Touch ID password. 3. I entered my password. Then, I received a dialog box informing me that in order to proceed, I would have to agree to Apple's terms of service agreement. I had two buttons from which to select; "DISAGREE" and "AGREE". 4. When given this choice I simply chose, now get ready for this, the "DISAGREE" button. That's it. After doing so, not only am I no longer being prompted to update my device to the latest release but, even better, the badge app number is no longer being displayed on the Settings icon. I am certain that when yet a newer update is once again downloaded to my device, I will receive another update prompt. Assuming I do not wish to install it, I only need to select the "DISAGREE" button in order to discontinue the update prompt. Give it a try.
