Hi all, Here's a guide on AppleVis to using bluetooth keyboards with iOS. After the link, I'll make some additional comments. https://www.applevis.com/guides/accessories-bluetooth-ios-ipad-iphone-ipod-touch-voiceover/dont-touch-it-type-it-voiceover
First, no, Quick Nav doesn't need to be on all the time. It speeds things up sometimes, and sometimes means holding less keys, but you don't actually *need* it at all. Many of the navigation commands you know from macOS, if you're a Mac user, will work. Vo-left/right to move (same as left/right swipe), vo-space to double tap, and so on. Vo-up/down will move through rotor options when available, such as actions on an email. To change what your rotor is set to, use vo-cmd-left/right. You can also hold down the command key when using vo-up/down, if it's easier to just leave all fingers in place when using the rotor. If you're on an iPad, vo-left bracket and vo-right bracket will move between apps visible in split view, as well as landing you on the divider, at which point you can use vo0up/down to select an options. I'll let the guide I linked to give you the rest, but there are some non0vo commands you may want to know too. Cmd-space on a home screen will open Spotlight, and cmd-h seems to be an alternative way of going home. Many apps implement keystrokes, so some commands from the Mac will feel familiar. Cmd-shift-d to send that email, cmd-l to open the address field in Safari, cmd-n in Twitterrific to write a new tweet, and so on. Developers can add their own keystrokes, so don't be surprised if you find some available that aren't related to VoiceOver. To find what you can do, you can sometimes hold down the command key, though this seems to randomly work. I get a result on the home screen, but not in Mail or Twitterrific, for instance. I wish there were a better way. Still, if you know a keystroke from macOS, it can't hurt to give it a shot. -- Alex Hall > On Nov 12, 2017, at 13:25, Donna Goodin <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hi, Gabe, > > So here is what I have so far. > > For some reason, you seem to need to have Quicknav on a lot.
